The cyclists make the Daily Telegraph! →
A lovely write-up by Rod Gilmour of the Daily Telegraph regarding Zakayo and Samwel’s achievements up in Alpe D’Huez. The world is sitting up and taking notice.

The winning time! →
As recorded on Timtoo timings!
They keep getting faster and faster!
Just 4 days after landing, Zakayo and Mwangi raced up Alpe d’Huez on a wet, slippery road. This time, Zakayo won in a time of 43:35. We’re going again on 14 August, and we’ll be faster. Watch this space.
Winners already!
It was with quite a bit of excitement with which Zakayo and Samwel undertook their first race up Alpe d’Huez.
Despite the rain and lack of experience, Zakayo and Samwel took first and second place comfortably.
They’re just getting started!
KENYANS LAUNCH ASSAULT ON ALPE D'HUEZ RECORD →
46 minutes. 46 minutes for a first attempt at Alpe d’Huez is simply staggering. What makes it all the more astonishing is the fact that the two cyclists who set the time have only been cycling properly for less than one year.

Viva la France!
Finally!
After 2 failures to obtain visas, once to France, and once to America, we finally got our visas to France. We’ll be heading there in August, and we’re climbing Alpe d”Huez.

One tribe, the Kalenjin, are on a rampage and killing people of another tribe, the Kikuyu. Zakayo is a Kikuyu, and he and his family have been targeted. My manager, Isaac, is also a Kikuyu. They’ve been attacked by members the...

Vertical Marathons
Zakayo and Ariko are chilling at the top of the Swissotel. Well deservedly so.
Climbing staircases is the closest thing to climbing a mountain on a bike, so this is a slight detour. Zakayo won by half a minute ahead of the competition and broke the record! Ariko won third place.
The winner gets to go to New York for the Empire State Building run-up. It’s an invitation-only race, so this is...

An Extraordinary feat
Zakayo Nderi is quite simply just about the best climbing specialist in the world.
Today he ascended the 17km, 1716m climb up Genting in 59min 52 sec. We have the unedited video of the whole event.
This gives him a VAM (“Velocity Ascensionale Media: - see the note and link below for explanation of this term) of 1720 m/hr. This is better than the VAM of every professional cyclist in...
